The ostrich is the largest bird in the world.

Ostrich cannot fly but use their wings for balance as they run at speeds up to 43 mph. They have the largest eyes of any land animal. An ostrich's eyes are larger than its brain.

Their eggs are equal to the size of 24 chicken eggs.
