Fringe-eared oryx can survive days or even weeks without water.

Oryx are very efficient at processing nutrients and liquids from food. They can tolerate extreme temperatures by raising their body temperature to 116°F causing heat to leave their bodies for the cooler air without losing moisture.  They may also dig shallow holes for resting and cooling.
