School Group Scholarships

SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAMS

The Wilds believes every child should have the opportunity to discover and engage in the wonders of the natural world.  We are excited to offer scholarship opportunities to help children have the experience of a lifetime!
 

FOR SCHOOLS – LEARNING IS WILD

 
What can the funds be used for?
• DayVenture Education Program - $10/person
• Overnight Program - $80/person
• Transportation Fees – Funds will help pay for bussing to and from the Wilds (maximum of $500 in scholarship funds can be applied to transportation fees).
 
When can we come to the Wilds?
DayVentures can be scheduled October – December and March – May.
Overnights can be scheduled during the months of October, November, April and May.
Please keep in mind, program activities, food options and sleeping arrangements may change due to the weather conditions.
 
Who qualifies for Learning is Wild scholarship funds?
Schools must be located in one of the following counties and have a 30% or higher student population on the free or reduced lunch program.
 
Adams, Ashtabula, Athens, Belmont, Brown, Carroll, Clermont, Columbiana, Coshocton, Franklin, Galia, Guernsey, Harrison, Highland, Hocking, Jackson, Holmes, Lawrence, Mahoning, Meigs, Monroe, Morgan, Muskingum, Noble, Perry, Pike, Ross, Scioto, Trumbull, Tuscarawas, Vinton and Washington
 
*The Learning is Wild Scholarship will only fund up to 75% of your total field trip cost.
 
How to Apply:
Application materials must be completed and emailed, faxed or mailed to the Wilds at least three weeks prior to your anticipated visit.
1. Download application.
2. Make sure your submission contains the following items:
  • Completed application form.
  • Letter detailing the school’s need for funding.
  • Statement detailing how a visit to the Wilds will be incorporated into the classroom experience to educationally impact the participants.
